State & local planning

Background

Departments of Education (both locally and nationally) have provided excellent guidance to school districts on COVID mitigation strategies. They have also relied heavily on medical and public health professionals for advice. Many individual school districts have devised their own mitigation strategies, and we encourage these strategies to be shared with colleagues from other districts and from state-led Departments of Education. One guiding principle in the absence of strong evidence is the need to share best practices in informal and formal mechanisms, through conversations within districts, across districts, and via webinars that seek to share practices.
