School vaccination clinics

Background

The CDC recommends that school districts establish school-located vaccination clinics. Vaccinating children ages 5 to 18 is taking place in many schools, which serve as key sites in the community to vaccinate children and their parents. These are excellent opportunities for unvaccinated parents and students to receive the vaccine. In Massachusetts, organizations may request a mobile, on-site vaccination clinic. A vaccination provider will come to the organization’s host-property to vaccinate individuals and return 3 to 4 weeks later to deliver 2nd doses. Organizations are encouraged to survey individuals and confirm participation prior to requesting a clinic. In Massachusetts, the Department of Public Health provides a weekly report by age and municipality for each vaccination performed. Here is the week-by-week report for all 351 towns and cities in Massachusetts through October 28, 2021. For individuals who would like to track the most recent information on vaccination rates in your community, please visit the “Massachusetts COVID-19 vaccination data and updates” page.
